Transfer Bridge to UCLA Samueli program details:

Program components:

	Intensive Classroom Boot Camp & Study Hall– Transfer Bridge participants will gain a competitive edge in their first year of UCLA coursework through our advanced learning classroom experience.  Gain early exposure to course content, experience the rigor of the UCLA Engineering classroom, take a sample UCLA Engineering examination,and develop your study strategies and partners before your performance counts. Our faculty and graduate students have identified content that will help our transfer students be more successful in their first year.  Content will be focused on CS 32, MAE  or CEE M20, and Math.
	3 Day Hack – Technical projects are one of the most effective ways of demonstrating your engineering abilities to a future employer.  It’s also a lot of fun!  At Transfer Bridge, participants will get their hands dirty on a technical design project.  Instructors and mentors will provide instruction on design tools that will be utilized in the culminating 3 day Hack Technical Completion that will be held on the final weekend of the program.  Regardless of your previous experience, this will provide participants with nuggets of information to share with recruiters at the Fall UCLA Engineering and Technical Career Fair.
	Accelerate your access to transfer success – transfer students have a shortened 2 – 3 years to collect the experiences that will help you to the next step of landing your first engineering job or continuing your education into graduate study.  Transfer Bridgers will participate in a professional development workshop series, called eTransfer 101, that will prepare you to participate in the upcoming Career Fair, learn about deadlines for important opportunities, and hear from current students about what to expect.
	Networking Opportunities & Cohort-building – Start your fall courses knowing some familiar faces and establish your study partners before the rigor of exam season sets in. Transfer Bridgers will have an added advantage of having valuable peer-support as they begin their UCLA Engineering journey.
	Academic Year Support – Transfer Bridgers will continue their experience through the first year as a transfer student.  Tutoring support at our study tables, and Transfer Bridge quarterly gatherings will be scheduled for those that complete the summer Transfer Bridge program.

Eligibility: You must be a newly admitted UCLA Engineering transfer student starting in and enrolled in fall quarter 2020.  You must be able to participate fully in the program from start to end.

Scholarship: To remove all barriers for participation, the Transfer Bridge to UCLA Samueli Program is fully subsidized.  Participants will also receive a $500 scholarship for completing the program.

The online application for the 2020 session is closed. The application for next year’s Transfer Bridge 2021 will go live on May 26, 2021 after the info-session.
