Objective

My name is Andrew T. Kunkler, and as a student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), I have developed meaningful technical skills in CAD, programming, electronics and custom component machining/manufacturing. Additionally, from over 15 years of professional work experience, including more than five years with Apple, I have gained extensive experience in precise hardware repair, project management, office administration, and business acumen. At Apple, I also discovered my voice as an effective communicator, and leveraged these skills in a variety of roles in leadership and team training and development. Upon graduating, it is my desire to work hands-on in technical projects as a Mechanical Engineer, while orienting my development towards opportunities in leadership, project management, and Systems Engineering.

Hello! I am a computer science junior at UCLA with 4+ years of experience in coding, specifically C++, C, and Python. I am currently seeking a role for Summer 2022 as a software engineering intern where I can apply and improve my technical skills while gaining professional experience by contributing to projects.

I hope to gain experience in fluid and thermal engineering to complement my personal experience with software engineering. The continuum nature of fluids, heat, and stress interests me due to their spatial nature and description by the elegant tools of vector calculus. In light of this objective, I have joined Rocket Project at UCLA as the Fins component lead. I am also interested in sensing and controls; I enjoyed working on the auto-straightening code in the 2021 HAcK, so I would like to work in the intersection of fluids, instrumentation, and controls if possible.
