Email dbf.ucla@gmail.com for Zoom Link!
3. Computer Aided Design Meeting – Weekly on Mondays at 6:00 PM (Starting 01/11)

The DBF Computer-Aided Design (CAD) team generates three-dimensional drawings using computer software that helps us design and manufacture our plane! In many cases, these computer drawings are directly used to 3D-print or laser-cut aircraft parts. We are currently working on getting a 3D model of our aircraft drafted.

Email dbf.ucla@gmail.com for Zoom Link!
4. Manufacturing Meeting – Weekly on Fridays at 7:00 PM (Starting 01/15)

Gabriel Alpuerto

I am a 5th year studying Mechanical Engineering and serving as President of ASME. At UCLA, I have been involved in a variety of organizations over the past four years. I regularly volunteer with engineering organizations (American Indian Science and Engineering Society, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Latinx Engineers and Scientists) focused on supporting minorities in engineering. These events include huge single days events where local grade schools are invited to UCLA to participate in STEM workshops. During the year, I work in the Boelter Hall MakerSpace as a Staff Member where I assist users in utilizing the space safely and efficiently while also maintaining the machines of the space. Finally, I participate heavily in the UCLA chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). I have participated in ASME’s Fabrication and Design Essential (FADE) and Combat Robotics projects, served as a FADE Lead during the 2018 – 2019 year, and now have been serving as the President since May 2019. When I am not studying or participating in these extracurriculars, I have some hobbies to give myself a break. I read a variety of books (ranging from epic fantasy to science fiction) and play videogames (mostly single player and RPG style games). I also have a Dungeons and Dragons group with my friends where I am the Dungeon Master since fall of 2018.
